Representatives of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (project coordinator) introduced the currently ongoing PoliRural project at the 2nd Conference of the Pan African Society for Agricultural Engineering (PASAE – AfroAgEng) on the ROLE OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING IN MEETING THE CHALLENGE OF GLOBAL FOOD SECURITY held between 10/09 and 13/09 2019 in Rabat, Morocco.
The presentation of the project and the following panel discussion aroused considerable interest among the conference participants. The extensive discussion has shown that the issue of rural development addressed in the PoliRural project is not only a specificity of European countries, but has a much broader impact, which includes African developing countries. On the basis of the negotiations, a new network of cooperating organizations and other partners is being established.
